On July 8th-9th we launched the 1st edition the Course of Paediatric Disability in Rimini, Italy. The aim of this training is to provide an introduction to Paediatric Disability looking at it from different angles and accessible to different healthcare professionals.

This event was organised in collaboration with Hand To Hand Association and hosted by “Fondazione Marco Simoncelli“. In this case, the introductory course to the treatment of disability in paediatrics aims to provide the basics skills to enter the world of special children.

The most common pathologies will be described, how to carry out a general evaluation, establish a therapeutic plan, and provide essential elements for treatment to accompany these children in their growth and help them reach their maximum potential.

The teaching team was composed by Luisa Miraglia (osteopath and MSc in Paediatric Osteopathy), Leandro Cesetti (osteopath and kinesiologist), Pablo Becerra (physiotherapist) and PhD Jorge Aranda (Doctor of Osteopathy, MSc in Paediatric Osteopathy).

Additionally, we are happy to introduce our new Educational Program “Hands with Heart Academy“.The Academy offers non-consecutive courses covering a multidisciplinary approach to paediatric disability from different backgrounds. Our courses are open to healthcare professionals and students, including osteopath, physical therapist, optometry, dentistry, occupational therapy and related professionals.

The aim is to provide the opportunity for those professionals looking for a training to further develop their scope of practice and clinical skills while learning with real patients who need help.

We would like to thank the Hand to Hand Association and the “Fondazione Marco Simoncelli” for the opportunity to collaborate and carry out this training activity together and also to Alessandro, Lorenzo and Chiara for their support with the organization.
