Training pediatric disability
Online Classes
In order to provide the best quality of services to children in need we have developed a Training in Pediatric Disability (TPD) for our volunteers. The TPD will be delivered through online classes before the mission followed by on-site guidance and supervision.
The online clases are divided in 4 blocks of 1.5-2 hours where the main concepts and useful knowledge of Pediatric Disability will be covered. It will be very practical oriented, mainly on treatment tools which could be applied to the majority of the children that the volunteer will be treating during the mission.
On-site Guidance
The on-site part of the TPD will be based on clinical guidance and supervision by our team of senior osteopaths, who have more than 10 years of clinical experience working with children with special needs.

Mission Programme
DAY 1 (8th SEPTEMBER): WELCOME
On the first day we will welcome our volunteers at the Ngurah Rai International Airport, transfer to the accommodation and carry out a welcome dinner.
The volunteers will get the chance to know each other and to get an introduction to Balinese culture: traditions, customs, community values and local etiquette to prepare for respectful interations during the mission.
DAYS 2-5 (9th – 12th SEPTEMBER): CARE SERVICES
During these days, the volunteers will rotate between three different local institutions: SLB 08:30 – 12:30), Yayasan Legong (09:00 – 12:30) and Yayasan Mentari Fajar (09:00 – 14:00 or 15:00). We will also take place in cultural activities, like visits to temples.
On Day 2, there will be an initial evaluation and equipment set-up, while the first treatment sessions and basic training for local therapists will be carried out.
On Days 3, 4 and 5 we will continue with the treatments and offer workshops for families and caregivers. We will also conduct afternoon workshops and follow up on complex cases.
DAY 6 (SEPTEMBER 13th): REST DAY
This is a day off for volunteers, allowing them to rest and enjoy their free time.
DAYS 7-10 (SEPTEMBER 14th-17th): CARE SERVICES
During the second phase of the mission, we will continue with the clinical work at the local institutions we collaborated during the first phase, but we will also add home visits to treat children in their own environment, adapting care and strenghtening the bond with families.
On Day 7 we will start the home visits, providing in-home evaluations and family guidance. During the following days, we will provide specialized care to children in their own space.
On Day 10, the final day of the mission, we will conduct our last clinical sessions until lunchtime, upon which we will carry out a team debriefing and evaluation and start the transfer to the airport for the flight back home.

What to expect:
This is a hands-on, demanding, and truly rewarding experience. Volunteers should be prepared for flexible schedules, long days, physical activity (including hiking and travel through rugged terrain), and work in varied environments. The mission requires openness, teamwork, and a genuine desire to serve vulnerable populations.
Whether working with children or adults, our focus is on providing dignified, person-centered care—addressing each individual’s unique needs, offering relief, hope, and practical support. You’ll have the chance to make a real difference not only in the lives of those you treat, but in their families and communities as wel
